As was mentioned in the recent Record Collector article on the top 60 DB collectibles, the French version was issued on a blue RCA label in Canada (cat # PB-50398). The blue label was the one that RCA used for records aimed at the francophone market. Normally, such blue label records would not be distributed all across Canada as would be the case with records aimed at the general market (francophones were buyers of English language recordings, but much less so the other way). I suspect, therefore, that unless a store in Vancouver - for example - placed a special order, it would not have received the single.

On the other hand, the single did get some air play in Quebec (and, presumably, in other francophone areas), which would have contributed to sales. Although I can't trust my memory completely, I seem to recall hearing the single on two different stations. I also remember readily finding it in the bins of the downtown Montreal Sam The Record Man. My guess, therefore, is that the single is not as rare as some of the earlier Canadian RCA singles.
