This is almost entirely uninteresting but I figured worth sharing in case anyone else cares.

The IdbD lists the edited version "found only as a bonus on the German edition of the DVD" and I did manage to track it down some time ago.

Anyway, looking closely, rather than it being an edit of the full version, it's really an extended version of the single version if that makes sense.
It tracks along identically to the single version but just fades a bit later.

However, I did notice one other thing making this a unique mix.
At around 2:36 in the video, following the "absolutely true" line, there is a lead saxophone part missing.
That sax part is also missing from the album credits version.

On a separate note, can anyone tell me if the February 86 preview version https://www.discogs.com/V ... se/2362705 is anything other than an early fade?

I can pick a copy up from discogs for a couple of pounds but won't see it until September when my ageing courier father arrives in Tasmania.

For the sake of 'completeness', the movie credit version is the full length version minus the opening 42 seconds but with the single mix opening two bars in place to give it a clean opening.

It has dialogue over it and is missing the sax break as noted above but is otherwise the same.

Having a closer look at the 'Nothing Has Changed' edit, that has been shortened by removing a few bars of music but also cutting vocal lines out!

It’s missing two lines from the first verse meaning Bowie sings “I absolutely love you, but nervous all the same,” skipping “but we're absolute beginners, with eyes completely open.” It repeats this rather poor trick in the second verse skipping the wonderful “But if my love is your love, we're certain to succeed.”

Thanks, just had that confirmed elsewhere too, it's apparently the single version with a fade out between the final two lines of the second verse.

this was on the german DVD?
I have bought one recently - and mine has the full length Version sadly.
Although i am pretty sure it can be edited down from the Album Version?
