Awaken 2 is an instrumental/ambient version of the Hours B-side No-one calls. The Omikron soundtrack has two files on it. A longer version wich could be heard at the Awakened bases in Jaunpur and Lahore. There was also a shorter version of it which was heard during some of the dialogue moments at the base.
You can easily identify the long version. It has an ambient drone intro and then fades in electric drums and the No-one calls sytnth guitar figure. The short version has also a louder volume than the base version.

Thanks for the info Cosmicjive. I clearly don't have it then! I've listened to all the omikron tracks I've found online and none match your description. I will find it!

I spotted the track in a youtube playthrough video of the game. This video starts in the Awakened base, you can hear the No-one calls bit kicking in @ 0:53:
There are more cool Bowie/Reeves instrumentals in the game though. Shame they never really get attention. Even in Peggs book they only get one line of description.

The soundtrack was extracted from the game some time ago and presented as a download at MWP. As the game is long out of print, I don't think it will be much of a problem if it is discussed here in detail with some MP3 samples.
I haven't paid much attention to the soundtrack because I could not play the game (it was Windows-only) and at the time it was very hard to identify the song titles. Possibly Nick had the same problem.
Any update to its songs entries is very welcome!

Hmm this is going to be a challenge. I asked Reeves about the tracks and about those so called ' easy listening versions' but I'm afraid I wasn't able to verify a thing!
Mr Gabrels reply:
i actually have no idea... it has been almost 12 years since i did those tracks. sorry i can't be more help.
Guess nobody kept track of those instrumentals.

does anyone else remember that there was ANOTHER "Omikron/hours" bootleg, but the bulk of the album consisted of variations of Thursday's Child, Something in the Air, Seven, Survive, and The Pretty Things...
like, it'd be the Omikron version of the track, followed by the instrumental, then a version which was only the vocals
I had an mp3 copy of it, which... over the years has vanished, but I don't think it was ever a pressed bootleg

You're right, it was a download called 'Hours the demos' with this tracklisting:
Quote:
01 Something In The Air (5:49) 02 Seven (4:09) 03 Survive (4:14) 04 The Dreamers (5:41) 05 The Pretty things (4:56) 06 Thursday's Child (5:30) 01 Something In The Air (Instr) (5:49) 02 Something In The Air (Vocal) (5:49) 03 Seven (Instr) (4:09) 04 Seven (Vocal) (4:08) 05 Survive (Instr) (4:14) 06 Survive (Vocal) (4:14) 07 The Dreamers (Instr) (5:41) 08 The Dreamers (Vocal) (5:41) 09 The Pretty Things (Instr) (4:55) 10 The Pretty Things (Vocal) (4:55) 11 Thursday's Child (Instr) (5:32) 12 Thursday's Child (Vocal) (5:30)
Quite interesting to hear the instrumentals and the acapella versions. It's in MP3 only, I would like to get a lossless version if someone has it...
And incorrectly described as 'demos' as they're the in-house animators' edits used to lip-sync the characters in the Omikron game. All mono and the complete tracks were reconstructed from the instrumental and vocal tracks.
