Kristeen Young dropped this demo this week...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy_lZLazn0o

Also, here's her comment on the song that I found via Bowie reddit page...

Quote:
This is something maybe 6 people at most have heard. It's a David Bowie vocal demo (with me singing also) for a song for the film Stealth (bt wrote the backing track?)....recorded about 10 years ago? I was new to new york. I was just hanging around the studio. It was a time period when (on a few songs) David had me double his vocal an octave higher. I remember that day he kept saying, "I don't want to write this. Do YOU want to write this?" I was naive and thought he was joking....but now, I don't think he was. What ended up on the soundtrack sounds very different to this and I didn't get credited (not bowie's fault) even tho my voice is on it. p.s. David wrote all the vocals on this. I just sang what he told me to. I. was. a. ro. bot.

Nice to hear it before all the vocals got mashed, autotuned and stretched.

This really is great. Kristeen Yound is awesome and so underrated. Struggle to understand why Bowie's two collaborations with Kristeen, this track and Saviour are so rarely mentioned. Don't even make the Pegg book songlist.

Like it much more than the actual release. Will stuff like this ever get a proper release one wonders?

unless you own an edition that predates these recordings then you are wrong with this claim. both tracks are given sizeable entries in Pegg.

Apologies, Shooky, I do not have the latest version of the Pegg book. I have the 2002 edition with the pic of Bowie at Meltdown on the cover, which does not mention Kristeen. I assumed that the Kristeen Young collaborations were recorded before then as the pics of Bowie with long hair alongside Kristeen look like they are from the 99/2000 period. But I guess they were recorded later than that.

you might want to update that 14 year old book when the new edition comes out then!
