ilpadrino: This LP wasn't distributed to radio stations and print media, it was given to shops who ordered a certain quantity of the 'Lifetimes' back catalogue. Some of the bigger shops received half a dozen. They could sell these to Bowie fans for £50, so in effect were getting a £50 bonus ... but it only cost RCA the cost of manufacture.
NB: 25 years ago this sold for 350 USD in Japan. Current price is down to around 115 USD.
